In my Mailbox!

(In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren)

I was almost afraid I wouldn’t be able to do an IMM post this week, since nothing had come for me in the mail, I hadn’t received any new e-books, nor had I made a trip to the library except to return books that I’d already borrowed and finished with. Or at least that was my intention!

I saw a copy of Margaret Atwood’s The Year of the Flood at the library, on sale for a mere $2. They don’t often have a great selection of sci-fi or fantasy books for sale, and even though I haven’t read any of Atwoods books before, I keep meaning to, and I figured that getting this one couldn’t hurt. I had $2 in my pocket, so I bought it and was on my merry way.

I won’t be able to get around to read it for a little while, I suspect, but at least I have a copy now so I can read it at my leisure.

  1. As I recall, The Year of the Flood is a sort-of sequel to another of Atwood's environmentalist fantasies: Oryx and Crake. Which was a much more satisfying endeavour than The Year of the Flood, for my money. I'd recommend you start there, Ria. There's a lot about Atwood to recommend. Not so much this, though. :/

  2. Glad I popped ovr to visit. I do want to read this, now after reading Niall's comment, I will read Oryx and Crake, which is sitting on my shelf, first.

  3. Thanks for your comment on the Lendle post :D
Margaret Atwood – a great that I should really have read by now!

Anyway, I completely understand your feelings about more ebooks; I've got a few to-reads on my NetGalley account too!!
